Eastern Harps captured the U16 ‘A’ League title by defeating Shamrock Gaels on a score line of 0:10 to 0:08. This was a very sporting game played in perfect conditions in Markievicz Park. Eastern Harps led at the break by 0:06 to 0:03 but this could have been a lot more only for the 2 brilliant saves by Shamrock Gaels Number 1 Ultan McKenna. Eastern Harps defence remained strong in the second half and limited Shamrock Gaels to 5 points in the second half. Eastern Harps added 4 points to the scoreboard which could have been more only for another top drawer save from Ultan McKenna. Ciaran Hannon was top scorer in this game with 4 points which meant that Eastern Harps ran out winners. I have no doubt that we will see these two teams meet again in the coming years. Eastern Harps Team was Alan Davey, Kieran Breheny, Jake Stephenson, Bryan O Hanlon, Sean O Connor, Kaelum Byrne, Marcus Meehan(0:02), Luke Hogge, Kyle Cosgrove, Tomas Taheny(0:01) (Capt), Ciaran Dorrian(0:01), Luke Kielty(0:01), Shawn O Hara(0:01), Ciaran Hannon(0:04), Gavin Gardiner. Subs: Killian Burns, Donnacha Byrne, James Campbell, Kacper Grzenda, Oskar Grzenda, Fionn O Donnell, Ross O Dowd, Eoghan Higgins, Bryan Molloy, Louis Casey. We wish a speedy recovery to Jake Stephenson who sustained an injury during the game.
