As parents we would like to add a comment about Feile 2013.

Since the exciting final last Autumn against St Marys, we have looked forward to Feile in Derry. The mentors were fantastic at encouraging the lads to self-fundraise and gave us all a clear understanding of what was required.

The whole weekend was a most enjoyable experience for us all. From the moment, we the parents arrived in Rasharkin (with the help of good directional texts) we felt welcome. The food was excellent on arrival and this very warm welcome continued throughout the whole weekend. The lads played as a skilful, determined, disciplined team throughout the competition.

The parade was a fantastic experience – to see up to 4000 boys & girls from all over Ireland, England & America was amazing. The atmosphere was wonderful.

The hospitality we experienced on Saturday night at “The Wild Duck” was great. We got to know the host families and had good fun with them. To watch the lads enjoying the meal and craic with their new friends was fantastic. Anyone listening to the banter and laughing would think we all knew each other for years.

I think we speak on behalf of all the parents when we send a huge Thank you to Paul, Eamonn, Shaun, Colm and Damien, and not forgetting Padraic Henry and Padraic Duffy, for their huge commitment and effort that they and all their families gave to Eastern Harps for Feile ’13.

The memories of the weekend will be with us for our lifetime. Thank you all who made it possible.

Regards,

Edward & Avril East
